SonySugar Board Appoints James Oluoch to Act as Managing Director

The Board of Directors has appointed Mr. James Otieno Oluoch to act as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of SonySugar for six months.

Mr. Oluoch takes over from Mr. Stephen Ligawa who proceeded on a prolonged annual leave, to utilize his accrued leave days. The decision was aimed at complying with the directive issued by the Chief of Staff and Head of Civil Service, Felix Koskei, on 28th September 2023, requiring civil servants to utilize their leave days or forfeit them by the end of June 2024.

In a staff notice signed by the Chairman, Board of Directors, Hon. Jared O. Opiyo on February 26th, 2024, the Board also made a few departmental changes “intending to ensure continuity in operations, improve efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery” read the notice.

Mr. Bonface Odhiambo is the acting Head of Agriculture while Mr. George O. Onyango takes over as the Head of Finance. Mr. David Mboya Achola becomes the acting Head of Procurement.
