Conmen Out to Defraud the Public, Cautions SonySugar MD

South Nyanza Sugar Company Limited has cautioned members of the public to beware of conmen forging the company’s documents with the intent to defraud them. The Managing Director, Martine Dima, via a press release on Monday 26th 2024, said the fraudsters are purporting to advertise nonexistent career vacancies, appointments and tenders.

The fake documents, he said, bear forged rubberstamps and falsified signatures. “They refer to nonexistent tenders, positions not in our Human Resource establishment, misleading work stations and outrageous benefits,” Mr. Dima said, clarifying that SonySugar only advertise career vacancies and tenders whenever they occur, on the company noticeboards, website and national newspapers. The adverts may also be promoted via the company’s social media pages for wider reach.

Mr. Dima however, emphasized that SonySugar does not enlist third party services to solicit talents, goods and services. He stressed that SonySugar will not be liable for the actions of the conmen. The MD encouraged the public to report anybody purporting to act on behalf of SonySugar to relevant authorities. He said members of the public can proactively and reactively access and verify SonySugar’s official information by personal visits or through correspondences as follows:-
