National Assembly Agriculture Committee Visits SonySugar
The National Assembly committee for Agriculture and Livestock has toured SonySugar to solicit views of farmers, management and other stakeholders for input in the proposed Sugar Bill to be debated in Parliament.
The committee chaired by Tigania West MP Dr. John K. Mutunga appreciated the efforts of farmers, management, employees and SonySugar fraternity in general, which have enabled the company to withstand the harsh economic situation in the country and in the sugar sub-sector specifically.
The other committee members present included Borabu MP Hon. Patrick Osero, Matayos MP Hon. Godfrey O. Makokha, Embu Woman Rep Hon. Pamela N. Njeru and Kwanza MP Hon. Ferdinand Wanyonyi. They were hosted by the Chairman of SonySugar Board Hon. Jared Opiyo and the Managing Director Mr. Stephen Ligawa.
